about

Gold Mold Records are excited to present LL/KA; an evocative split EP from two of Scotland’s finest.

Lovely Ladies are indeed not ladies at all – but their loveliness remains undeniable. With influences as diverse as Weezer and Connan Mockasin via teen sci-fi classics like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Reaper, the band embrace an alien, atmospheric sound coupled with a keen awareness of the darker side of life. Formed at the Dundee Art School in 2012 by members of the Mollusk Magazine team, the band have previously released a three-track EP through Gold Mold Records, which is available for free download via BandCamp.

KINGSARMS are an equally exciting prospect. Hailing from Ayr, their psychedelic soundscapes combine seamlessly with melodic vocals and a rare social conscience – lead track “Good Luck Jonathon” appears in fierce protest against the effective criminalisation of homosexuality in Uganda – to form a sound which is all their own.
